The 16th May was proclaimed “International Day of Living together in Peace” by the resolution NR.72/130, adopted by United Nations General Assembly, on the 8th December 2017. This resolution was initiated by Algeria.
The purpose of this resolution is to promote tolerance, reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.
Algeria’s commitment to promote the concept of ‘’Living together’’ is based on its own experience in counter-terrorism and in promoting national reconciliation and also on its diplomatic efforts in international area for peace and solidarity.
The celebration of an « International Day of Living Together » is a way to mobilize international community to promote peace, tolerance, understanding and solidarity between human beings regardless to their race, nationality, sex, culture, civilization, language or religion.
To celebrate this day, M. Abdelhamid Chebchoub, Ambassador of Algeria will give a lecture on Wednesday 16th May 2018, at 12.00 at the Faculty of Law of Belgrade, Conference room, Bulevar Kralja Aleksandra 67
